Antizionism is an eliminationist movement, not a form of political criticism or advocacy for human rights.
Antizionism is an anti-Jewish ideology and eliminationist movement that espouses hatred of Jewish peoplehood and opposes collective self-determination, while glorifying violence and rejecting peaceful coexistence. It is not criticism of the Israeli government or political debate.
Antizionism has existed for more than a century. Each time antizionism becomes entrenched in a society, Jewish life is suppressed and Jews are systematically persecuted, ethnically cleansed, or violently eliminated.
Today in the west, antizionism operates by creating a bogeyman “Zionist” caricature and applying this caricature to all Jews and their allies to justify purging them from society.
We don’t debunk antizionism.
We expose it.
For years, efforts to dispel antizionism have focused on debunking misinformation. We reach for new and innovative ways to teach our friends and family what Zionism really is and who Israelis really are. We are stuck in a cycle of trying to convince people why our lives and story matter.
Too often, our words fall on deaf ears, leaving us frustrated and lost. We are stretched so thin that sometimes it seems impossible to know where to turn.
It’s time for a new toolkit that meets the moment we’re now in. We’re not here to debunk antizionism. We’re here to expose it.
